Not that old for four-oh
February 15, 2008 - 12:18 pm
I am forty now. As we all know, time and age are abstract. For me I can honestly say that I have grown up a bit in the last 3 to 5 years. I just don’t react quite the same way to life as I used to. Mellowing out, I suppose, but, I can still over-react at times. I just know that my thought process has overcome some internal struggles that I used to deal with. Most importantly, I have really never been so happy as I am now, due to the woman I love, Jenna.
Anyways, for my birthday I got some Legos (actually purchased them myself for my own gift-no one else would have). I could not resist the latest Fierce Creatures of the Creator series or the three sets of the newjungle themed Exoforce “opposing robots” sets. I simply love spiders and robots.
In the vee-gee category, Professor Layton and the Curious Village has occupied my attention on the DS handheld. Great puzzles wrapped up in a good story with strange and somewhat adorable characters. It also feels so right in the DS interface, unlike so many others I have tried that poorly “clunk” along. Level-5 developed a great piece of work with this game.
In the TV and Movie cat-uh-goree, Jenna and I have become quite fond of the Netflix DVDs of Showtime’s The Tudors. Maybe not so authentic depicting Henry VIII, but good acting, story, costumes and sets nonetheless. Last night, for our Valentines date, we saw a good date movie: Definitely, Maybe. It was well done and even brought some tears to my eyes.
