2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremonies

August 8, 2008 - 8:42 pm

I am very amazed at what little I just witnessed on TV. The huge LED screen covering the ground and then the undulating tile blocks that represented the movement of wind and water drops and the Chinese symbol for harmony. And then to find out it was all driven by people! Intense!

Later there was Sarah Brightman singing on top of a large globe that came out of the ground, that is also covered with LED wonderfulness. All around the video globe people are running and dancing sideways and upside down. The crowd all around the globe just opened up flat umbrella like things displaying large faces of children from around the globe. Truly amazing, bringing tears to my eyes. I have never seen anything like this!
